Senior Research Assistant

A research position in Molecular Neuroscience is available in the Neuroscience Laboratory at the National Neuroscience Institute (SGH campus). We are looking for highly motivated candidates (BSc or MSc) who have a strong desire to learn and take on intellectual challenges. Applicants should have a strong background in biochemistry, cell biology or molecular biology and prior Neuroscience research experience is preferred.

The successful applicant would be involved in research aimed at dissecting key molecular mechanisms underlying the genetic forms of Parkinson’s disease. Specifically, we are looking for someone who has prior experience in handling mouse models. The research entails characterizing the structural and biochemical properties of proteins encoded by pathogenic genes and elucidate the relationship between these proteins and their interactors. There will also be opportunities for collaborative work with various national and international centers drawing a multi-disciplinary approach that also involves drosophila and mouse genetics, mitochondrial metabolism, and proteomics.
