Contracts Manager- Subsea Projects

CONTRACTS MANAGER – SUBSEA PROJECTS

1. REPORTING STRUCTURE

· Functional (direct) reporting to Project Services Manager (under Subsea Projects)

2. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead a team of contract specialists and contract engineers in contract management and administration activity across all subsea projects

· Provide strategy level guidance and leadership to the projects management team to safeguard company’s position in contract negotiations

· Work closely with project managers and acquisition managers in formulating and negotiating / influencing commercial/contract terms with existing and potential customers

· Provide strategy level guidance to Supply Chain organization in negotiating commercial/contract terms with major sub-suppliers to ensure alignment with commercial/contract terms from end customer

· Work closely with all stakeholders in developing (or improving) processes and procedures relating to bid/tender contractual review, bid/tender contract negotiation, contract management and administration, claims management and warranty issues management

· Assume Asia Pacific point-of-contact responsibility in relation to company’s global contract management functional group

· Provide monthly reporting of contract position across all projects in execution as well in tender/bid pipeline and advise management on risks and opportunities available


3.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (preferably Engineering)

· At least 5 years of work experience at a senior contracts specialist / senior contracts engineer level (preferably related to oil & gas industry)

· Must have solid experience in negotiating, managing and administering large value EPC type contracts (both fixed term-lump sum and frame agreement call out type contracts)

· Must have solid experience in using labor, material and metal indices for price escalation calculations

· Prior experience in negotiating aftermarket service type contracts would be very advantageous

· Exposure to subsea equipment manufacture industry would be very advantageous


4.
PERONALITY REQUIREMENTS

· Must be able to develop trust and confidence with all stakeholders

· Must have strength of character to prioritize company position over individual project position

· Must have confidence and ability to face customers and present positions convincingly

· Must have very good written and spoken English language abilities

· Must have mentoring/coaching capability to train/develop contract engineers


5.
BASE AND TRAVEL

· This position is based in Singapore

· 30 – 40% travel in the Asia-Pacific region is expected

Occasional travel to other company’s regions (Houston, Norway) is also expected
