Mechanical Commissioning Technician


Our client is one of the world's largest energy companies employing over 80,000 personnel and operating in over 100 countries worldwide with expertise covering a range of energy sources.

They currently have a vacancy for a Mechanical Commissioning Technician based in Singapore.

The position of Mechanical Commissioning Senior Technician will be based in Singapore to assist the commissioning of the Marine and Topsides equipment.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities (Onshore)

To participate in all project HSSE systems and ensure that all work carried out by all parties engaged in all phases of project work comply with all project HSSE requirements.
Actively participate in all company and project related safety initiatives and programmes.
Oversee the safe and efficient execution of the multi-discipline Precommissioning and Commissioning work-scope as carried out by execution team. This role is primarily based at the co-ordination and execution of pre-comm. and comm. scope in the field. The candidates must be comfortable running large teams of technicians of multiple disciplines in a system owner concept.
Activities will be monitored and tracked against the commissioning plan and the Mechanical Snr. Technicians need to be able to understand, communicate and execute the detailed plans from the RCEs on the allocated systems/areas to support the delivery of the overall commissioning plan. Successful candidates would need to have strong supervision, leadership, communication and organisation skills to drive completion of the commissioning scope out on the facility on a daily basis.
Be able to work within Control of Work standard as dictated by the Projects Permit to Work and Isolation procedures and practices - position may be required to act as PA (Performing Authority). Needs to lead by example with regard to safe execution of works, to the large local technician team.
Be able to raise technical queries and document said items. Candidates may need to work nightshift if required to support the plan delivery, Candidates need to be familiar with Offshore oil and gas facilities, with FPSO Topsides and/or Marine experience being particularly desirable.
Be conversant with the use of multi-discipline commissioning procedures - ensure compliance with project standards, specifications and procedures.

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
