The Microsoft Subsidiary Business Marketing Organization (BMO) is the business strategy, operations and marketing arm for Microsoft’s products and platform technologies. It is the hub for subsidiary planning, landing of scorecards, business and compete priorities by Operating Model. Every key initiative of Microsoft flows through the BMO.
Within the subsidiary, the Information Worker Product Marketing Manager (IW PMM Mgr) role develops and owns the overall Go-to-Market strategy framework, is responsible for campaign management and drives excellence in marketing execution. This position manages the revenue of the Information Worker (IW) product line and is responsible for the budgeting, adoption and execution of marketing campaigns within the subsidiary. The IW PMM Mgr works with their team and a virtual team, including Small and Midmarket Solutions and Partners, Enterprise Marketing, and the Central Marketing Group, to design and execute marketing programs to ensure we are meeting our campaign goals and scorecard metrics. This role is also responsible for evaluating and recommending the optimal Go-to-Market marketing plan for IW and the go-to expert for all IW related matters in the subsidiary.
An essential aspect of the IW PMM Mgr is to align the content, timing and delivery of marketing messages and outreach to Microsoft’s customers and partners. All relevant marketing teams need to work together to create the most impactful marketing strategy and execution plan possible by customer segment. The various messages need to be aligned, with the end goal to think and act as “One Microsoft” while meeting the business objectives of Microsoft’s customer, initiative and product marketing teams.
Responsibilities include:
• Managing the optimal marketing mix for Microsoft Office, Project and Visio products to deliver defined marketing objectives, strategies, requirements, and budget.
• Forming competitive insights and developing subsidiary competitive strategy plans for Microsoft Office
• Managing a team and a virtual team to gain segment and marketing support to drive strong growth of product revenue and share, and scorecard metrics via successful and relevant marketing campaigns.
• Ensuring consistency of messaging and branding across all marketing activities.
• Actively communicating feedback to RHQ to influence and shape the corporate marketing deliverables to increase local relevancy.
• Managing the collaboration with Segments, CMG, and Audience Marketing Managers to ensure the specific marketing activities are driving: lead generation, revenue, interest, awareness, loyalty and customer satisfaction.
• Ensuring the IW team is demonstrating leadership in digital marketing both through execution of successful local initiatives and support of regional/global initiatives.
• Measuring, tracking and reporting marketing KPI for marketing activities as well as KPI for sales operations by segments and audience.
Qualifications:
• BA or Master’s degree
• 5-8 years of related experience
• Intermediate to advanced conflict resolution and negotiation skills
• Advanced oral and written communication skills, planning and organizational abilities
• Prior product marketing experience in the IT industry a strong plus
