Job Summary: Basic Function and Scope of the Position:

Responsible to perform a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations. Interacts with manufacturing and/or production personnel.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
. Performs moderate to complex level mechanical assembly of optical components with limited supervision; normally works at multiple works area or highly competent at one; has experience with two or more work areas
. Performs visual and optical inspection using a microscope and interferometer
. Follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. May recommend improvements to processes and procedures
. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications
. Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
. Records data and performs various operations using Microsoft Office Products and/or similar applications
. Runs computer aided systems
. Coordinates tasks in several work centers at the same time
. May train lower level Assemblers

Preferred Educational Background:
. High school diploma or equivalent required
. A.A./A.S. in relevant field preferred

Preferred Experiential Background:
. Minimum of 3-4 years' work experience in a production environment
. Ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task
. Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal
. Basic computer skills
. Reading and understanding mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics and BOMs
. Strong communication skills and team skills
. Demonstrated superior attention to detail
. Ability to work independently
. Must be flexible and able to adapt to frequent process changes
