Advanced Technologist – Analytical Services Job

GE Water and Process Technologies is a $2B leading provider of membrane separations and purification technologies for water and process applications. This position will be located in GEWPT's
laboratories at the National University of Singapore, which houses an outstanding array of scientists, labs, and equipment.Advanced Technologist – Analytical ServicesProduct Design and Development· Perform water analysis using automated colorimetric methods such as FIA, auto titration systems, ion chromatograph, discrete analyzer, Hg analyzer, ICP and ICP/MS.
· Be responsible for sample preparation, instrument set-up and analysis, data interpretation and data quality and report generation.
· Perform daily maintenance and calibration of instruments and advanced trouble-shooting as required.
· Conduct method development/operational improvement projects to meet new business needs and improve operational efficiency of the laboratory.
· Provide assistance to engineers in interpretation of analytical results and make recommendations for analysis that should be conducted.· MS Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry or a related subject with 3 5 years experience in industrial water treatment analytical laboratory or water analysis laboratory.
· Hands-on experience in the use of automated instrumental analytical techniques such as FIA, auto titration systems, ion chromatograph, discrete analyzer, Hg analyzer, ICP and ICP/MS.
· Knowledge and experience in high purity water sampling, transportation and analysis.
· Knowledge and experience of industry and laboratory quality systems and standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.
· Fluency in English; multilingual skills desirable.· Excellent communications/interpersonal skills, problem solver and team player.
· Strong analytical and organizational skills.
· Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively drive strategic plans.
· Experience and knowledge in water chemistry and water treatment business.
· Experience and knowledge in regulatory methods, such as EPA, ASTM, or Standard Methods.
